Sr. Fullstack Engineer

Summary

We’re seeking a senior fullstack developer to revive and evolve the Spark platform. This role focuses on building and scaling a modern web application using a TypeScript stack (React, Node.js, PostgreSQL) within an Azure AKS-hosted microservices environment. The position offers high autonomy on a small remote team and significant influence over architecture and technical direction.

You will work with AI-assisted development tools as part of your daily workflow, integrate with third-party systems used across the organization, and help shape deployment and operational decisions. This is an ownership-focused role where clear asynchronous communication and maintainable, well-documented code are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve web frontends using React and TypeScript.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs with Node.js to support platform features and integrations.
• Work within an AKS-hosted Azure microservices architecture and contribute to deployment and operational decisions.
• Integrate applications with third-party systems such as HubSpot, Bullhorn ATS, and Microsoft Entra authentication.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT-style assistants) to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Participate in architecture discussions and help shape technical direction with the team lead.
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code with maintainability in mind.
• Collaborate asynchronously within a small distributed remote team and communicate progress clearly.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience with Node.js (backend) and React (frontend).
• Strong backend development experience building APIs, integrations, and handling data.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT-style assistants as part of daily workflows.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience working in cloud environments, including Azure and AKS.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously on a small remote team with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A portfolio, GitHub profile, or work samples demonstrating production experience.
• Commitment to writing maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js or NestJS.
• Experience with microservices or event-driven architecture patterns.
• Experience with AI/ML integrations in real-world applications.
• Familiarity with Terraform or CI/CD pipeline design.
• Background with authentication systems such as OAuth, SSO, or Microsoft Entra.
• Experience integrating CRM/ATS platforms like Bullhorn or HubSpot.
