Fullstack Frontend Engineer

Summary

We are hiring senior Fullstack Frontend Engineers to join a team that maintains and evolves developer.paypal.com, the global platform for PayPal API and developer documentation. This frontend-heavy full stack role offers ownership of user-facing interfaces and the supporting backend services for a high-traffic documentation product used across PayPal and affiliate companies.

This is an opportunity to build responsive, production-grade web applications with JavaScript, React and Next.js, contribute to AI-assisted documentation initiatives, and help migrate affiliate content and workflows into a new unified web application.

Responsibilities

• Design and build responsive, high-quality user interfaces using JavaScript, React and Next.js
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and core services with Node.js to support the frontend
• Implement features for a global developer documentation platform and migrate affiliate content into the new application
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define and deliver production-ready features
• Contribute to AI-assisted technical documentation features and integrate them into the UI
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code and participate in thorough code reviews
• Ensure applications support multilingual and region-aware workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to UI and supporting services

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant frontend focus
• Strong experience with JavaScript
• Strong experience with React
• Strong experience with Next.js
• Strong experience with Node.js for backend/API development
• Demonstrated full stack development experience with an emphasis on frontend ownership
• Experience building user-facing web applications at scale
• Experience working with documentation platforms, content systems, or complex web products
• Comfortable designing and implementing multilingual and region-aware application features
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working cross-functionally
